Lee-on-the-Solent is on the South Coast between Southampton and Portsmouth. The Isle of Wight is just across the Solent.

The long beach fronted town has cafes, shops, pubs and takeways. In summer, the children's Splash park is opened.Lee is flat and good for cycling. Paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and kite and winsdsurfing are popular here.

An extensive Country Park at Alver Valley and the Browndown area are unspoilt places for walking and bird spotting. Titchfield Haven has a bird reserve.

Gosport has interesting museums: naval heritage sites like Explosion, The Submarine Museum and the Dockyard, a ferry ride over to Portsmouth. Little Woodham Living History outdoor museum worth visiting.

The New Forest, Chichester and Hampshire countryside are within easy reach.
